As part of our Talking Geopolitics Podcast Series, we have talked to Ambassador Pawel Herczynski, Head of the Delegation to Georgia. We discussed the current state of EU-Georgia cooperation in security and defence policy, as well as possible avenues to strengthen it against the backdrop of growing Russian aggression in Eastern Europe. We touched upon the European Union’s role in conflict settlement, more specifically the stabilising role of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) near the Administrative Boundary Lines between the two breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Mr. Ambassador Pawel Herczynski also provided insights into the potential future participation of Georgia in PESCO projects and the preparedness of Georgia against cyber attacks.
